Phileas Fogg’s Perfect Polish Perogies has a very specific
target market trying to be reached which can be beneficial but it can also be a
downfall of the brand as well. "A company should
target segments in which it can profitably generate the greatest customer value
and sustain it over time" (Armstrong & Kotler pg. 50) The snack is
made specifically to pair well with a nice tall alcoholic beverage while
sitting at the local bar. The high fat content and savory cheese filling make
it perfect while drinking. Being a snack made to be eaten with an alcoholic
beverage, the brand is clearly targeting the adult drinker which does not seem
that limited. Yet, compared to the average snack that tends to all demographics
it cuts down the consumer market significantly. "Market targeting
involves evaluating each market segment’s attractiveness and selecting one or
more segments to enter." (Armstrong & Kotler pg. 50)
