Week 4 EOC: Application

A new wave of products have hit the today’s market with force. These products are called “Apps” or “Applications” and are made for mobile devices. Devices such as phones, tablets, music players etc... These apps can make your device do pretty much anything these days. People are designing and publishing a countless number of applications every day that extend the abilities of your device. The cell phones in the hands of the people today don’t just make phone calls anymore. No, they can now, by using these applications, be used as flash lights, access social media websites, and even be used as a compass. Yet, there is one thing I think mobile devices should be able to do and that is to take body temperature. Having your mobile device double as an oral thermometer would be revolutionary not only in the medical field but to families in American homes today. The application would come with a small piece of hardware that would be placed into the mouth of the patient and plugs into the device on the other end. The hardware will take the temperature and send the data into the phone and the reading will appear when the application is open. The success of the product would be through the low cost of the hardware and software added on to your already owned hosting device, cutting out the need for the separate and less convenient option. The product would be used in hospitals, homes and even refuges. To utilize this new wave of products known as apps for the betterment and overall health of the human race is truly a sign of human and global business progress in market today. “The social-responsibility and environmental movements will place even stricter demands on companies in the future. Some companies resist these movements, budging only when forced by legislation or organized consumer outcries.” Marketing: An Introduction, 10th Ed. Prentice Hall Publishing Page. 29
